William Boyle is from Brooklyn, New York. His books include: Gravesend (2013, reissued 2018), which was nominated for the Grand Prix de Littérature Policière in France and shortlisted for the John Creasey (New Blood) Dagger in the UK; Death Don’t Have No Mercy (2015); Everything is Broken (2017); The Lonely Witness (2018), which is nominated for the Hammett Prize; and, most recently, A Friend Is a Gift You Give Yourself (2019). His other writing has been published in Oxford American, Gravy, Crime Factory, and The End of All Music music blog, and his reviews have appeared in Salon, the L.A. Review of Books, and The Rumpus.
