Recommended free contest awards a $1,000 scholarship to Lake Superior State University or a $500 cash prize for previously unpublished short stories by high school students in the US or Canada. Winning story will be published in LSSU's literary journal, Border Crossing. Theme changes annually. For 2017, the sponsor seeks realistic fiction (i.e., stories that take place in the real world).
